Registration Policy

Your registration signifies that you have read and accepted the Registration Policy as well as the Substitution, Ticket Switching, and Cancellation Policies below and that you agree to accept all emails that are specific to your registration for this event.

Registration constitutes permission to use photos, audio, and/or video footage of your voice or image captured at the event in connection with Learning Sciences International (LSI) conferences and activities, in corresponding publications, in LSI archives, or on LSI websites. However, LSI will not use your name with your associated organization in promotional materials or in testimonial statements without your prior written consent.

Substitution Policy

If a registrant is no longer able to attend, they may identify a substitute to attend in their place. Substitutions can be processed through June 1, 2021, by the original registrant. The substitution request will require the registrant to visit the Already Registered link on the conference website and to enter their registration confirmation number. There is not a fee to process substitutions. If you need assistance with switching a registration, please reach out to

Ticket Switching Policy

Attendees are not permitted to self-modify their registration to “switch tickets” from a virtual registration to an on-site registration or from an on-site registration to a virtual registration. If an attendee is wishing to cancel their on-site presence and instead attend virtual, your on-site registration will have to be cancelled and you will then have to register separately for a virtual ticket. If you are wishing to be on-site instead of your original virtual purchase, you will have to cancel your virtual ticket and separately purchase an on-site ticket.

If you choose to switch tickets, the request must be received in writing to before May 3, 2021. If you switch tickets, your original purchase will be refunded, and you will then be charged for your newly purchased tickets. For those switching ticket types, you will not be charged the $100 cancellation fee on your original ticket purchase.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellation refund requests for conference registration must be received in writing via email to before May 3, 2021. For invoices that have already been paid, the refund will be processed (less a $100 cancellation processing fee) within 15 business days of the written cancellation request. For invoices that have not yet been paid, the $100 cancellation fee is due within 15 business days of the written cancellation request. A $100 processing fee will be assessed per registrant on all refund requests.

Requests for refunds will not be honored after May 3, 2019. Cancellation refund requests received after May 3, 2019, will not receive a refund of the registration fee and will remain liable for full payment. Refunds are not granted for failure to attend, late arrival, unattended events, or early departure. LSI is not responsible for weather-related cancellations or for airfare, hotel, or other costs associated with the conference if the registrant is unable to attend.

The conference is subject to cancellation or change. Liability is limited to funds remitted for conference registration. Speakers are subject to change without prior notice. LSI encourages registrants to process a substitution to attend in their place to avoid a cancellation fee.

LSI reserves the right to cancel any registration, at any time, for any reason that is not suitable to the conference. If your registration is cancelled, you will be issued a refund up to the full price that you have paid for conference registration. You will not be reimbursed for travel or other charges that arise due to LSI cancelling the registration.

Assumption of the Risk and Waiver of Liability Relating to Coronavirus/COVID-19

The novel coronavirus, COVID-19, has been declared a worldwide pandemic by the World Health Organization. COVID-19 is extremely contagious and is believed to spread mainly from person-to-person contact. Federal and state authorities recommend social distancing as a means to prevent the spread of the virus. COVID-19 can lead to severe illness, personal injury, permanent disability, and death. Participating in Learning Sciences International’s conferences (“the Conference”) or accessing facilities that the conference is taking place in could increase the risk of contracting COVID-19. Learning Sciences International, LLC in no way warrants that COVID-19 infection will not occur through participation in Learning Science International LLC’s Conference or accessing of the facilities the Conference is taking place at.

By agreeing to the conference Terms & Conditions in the registration path, I acknowledge the contagious nature of COVID-19 and voluntarily assume the risk that I may be exposed to or infected by COVID-19 by attending Learning Sciences International’s Conference and that such exposure or infection may result in personal injury, illness, permanent disability, and death. I understand that the risk of becoming exposed to or infected by COVID-19 at the Conference may result from the actions, omissions, or negligence of myself and others, including, but not limited to, Learning Science International employees and other Conference participants.

I voluntarily agree to assume all of the foregoing risks and accept sole responsibility for any injury to myself (including, but not limited to, personal injury, disability, and death), illness, damage, loss, claim, liability, or expense, of any kind, that I may experience or incur in connection with my attendance at the Conference. On my behalf, I hereby release, covenant not to sue, discharge, and hold harmless Learning Science International, LLC, its employees, agents, and representatives, of and from the Claims, including all liabilities, claims, actions, damages, costs or expenses of any kind arising out of or relating thereto. I understand and agree that this release includes any Claims based on the actions, omissions, or negligence of Learning Science International, LLC, its employees, agents, and representatives, whether a COVID-19 infection occurs before, during, or after participation in the Conference.
